First off, we are sold out! A successful event and fantastic turn out. There are just a handful of people who have yet to pick up their coins. They will only be held for 3 months following the event before they are put up for sale again.
I've had to do some digging to find out the meaning behind the design on the coins. So far, this is what I have for information.
One of the writing systems used on the coins are Gallifreyan, a writing system in the Doctor Who TV series. The rest is copied from a GeoSwag post that didn't quite reveal all the mysteries in this coin.
As of September 16th, Andrew Teeluck (SiaFhir) has retired as Vice President of the MBGA and stepped down from the MBGA board of directors to focus more of his time on other adventures. We wish to thank Andrew for his past 5 years of contributions to the MBGA and wish him well on the new endeavours he is undertaking.
In his place, as the new Vice President, is Josh Bernier (Stonagal). We thank you to Josh for accepting the nomination and look forward to working with Josh in his new role.
So you're a newer Geocacher and have yet to come out to an event Geocache. How do I find them? What do I do? What if I don't know anyone? These are common things that cachers think about when it comes to events.
So we'll take a few minutes to go through some of those thoughts. I will welcome feedback from people and add to this post.
Why should you attend an event? At first blush, Geocaching appears to be a solitary activity. However, most people were introduced to Geocaching by a friend. That in itself would have been fun.
