Don't you need a 14 day head start on event caches?

"Event caches should be submitted no less than two weeks prior to the date of the event, so that potential attendees will have sufficient notice to make their plans. Events are generally listed no more than three months prior to the date of the event, to avoid having the listing appear for a prolonged period of time on the nearest caches page and in the weekly e-mail notification of new caches. Exceptions are sometimes made for events that are designed to attract a regional, national or international group of geocachers. Contact your reviewer if you wish to set up such an event, which may be listed up to six months in advance."

I did not know this.  You're just a wealth of info Dani, but why didn't you discover this earlier?!   I will post a reviewer note asking if they would please approve even though its short notice and if we did it again, we would give the required 14 days notice.

Lucky us, the listing's up (thanks Cache Effect). The event date is actually May 25, 2006, but that'll get fixed up on the GC listing.

If you'd like to join in for some social caching followed by pasta, go to "Blitzing" The Forks to log your "Will Attend".

Hope to see you there!

Although mosquito season is now fully upon us, is anybody interested in another group caching outing and if so where?  Ideas?  Thoughts?  Dates?  Any areas which are conducive to walking to some or all caches as a group would be preferable (UofM Campus, Assiniboine Forest, etc)

U of Mís got lost of caches in close proximity. Assiniboine Forest is good too, but some are getting archived off.

The group could pick up twelve caches on a ~7 km walk at the U of M. Thirteen if the Henri Boux Park Cache multi is included on the way to supper. We did eight caches comfortably in about 2-1/2 hours walking 5 km last time at The Forks.

So anybody?  Bueller?  Bueller??

If there is enough interest, I will post an event to gc.com.  And the biggest reason for making it an official event is because not everybody knows about these forums, something we need to rectify.

We could trim a couple of outliers and easily get the walk down to 4 or 5 km. June 29 was completely arbitrary, so If a different date works better for somebody else . . . Slippery, are you out there?

There's only one of those caches I'm missing... Unfortunately, as usual, we both work until 17h00 outside of the city (and in the opposite direction from U of M!)

So, if you're heading out to supper afterwards, let us know... then you can tell us where to find the one we're missing -- or just save that one for last and we'll join up with you!

I'd be interested in joining the group for this adventure at my alma mater.

Ok, I just made it home from the last outting I had with you guys....10 days to make it home...sheese.

Got to Brandon, blew a motor and spent a week waiting for a replacement and then installing it. But I did get in some caching.

Imagine I was 2 &1/2 hours from you guys this weekend and spent my time pulling wrenchs...sigh

I checked my calander, and won't be in the city again until the night of the 25th and leaving in the afternoon of the 27.

Let me know and I'll join in...but will only accept the role of navigator due to you guys having all the expertice in the big city caches.

I could likely not make the caching but can take part in any dinner get together afterwards.  Shall I post it to gc.com then?  Fly me an email, Turdle-man!
