I saw a Manitoba Geocoin listed in the Geocaching forums, is anyone interested in a trade with me for one?

Hello,

If nobody has responded to you yet, I could likely make you a trade.  Let me know.

Just thought I'd pass along the following note that was made in the Geocaching.com forums from someone that I sent a Manitoba Geocoin to.

Ladycacher & Boys

Just checked the PO Box and I got a MBGA (Manitoba Geocaching Association) coin today also. I love this coin and it is on my top 10 of Fav's.

She's an avid collector too, so that's saying alot!  Once again, kudos to Brian for the great job he did on this coin!

I have MBGA coins and am willing to trade.

I traded with TeamCoyChev and I just wrote to Damenace.

Anyone else care to trade?

Peter

I'm also willing to trade coins. I've got about 30 MBGA coins that I'm either going to trade out or drop in caches outside of Manitoba. MHz

I've traded 20 of my coins away and had good responses from major collectors on the design - Rusty O' Junk said, "I love that coin, its plain, simple and I love the look of it. I'm not too crazy about all the colors on coins. Color might look good on a GPSr screen but it makes a coin look too "Coney Island". I love the antique worn look. This thing is as great as everyone told me it was." (I think he's a friend of Junglehair's).

I have really enjoyed trading with others and seeing the coins out there - amazing to own one of Moun10Bike's coins as well. I sent along our calling cards and our maple leaf clay tokens and in some cases our personal Manitoba geocoin as well which collectors seem to enjoy.

I'd love to see more personal signature items left in caches. I appreciate Capt. Kirk and McDee's calling card with the frog and CacheGranny's boot. Are there other Manitoba signature items I should be looking for? Of course since we're not FTF much we only have one of Gloria's wooden Xmas ornaments. We also have a piece of moose antler from a northern cacher - can't quite recall who right now. And hey bring your calling cards to the MBGA events and we'll be glad to swap if we don't have yours - we'll try and print up some more of our new black and white ones for those who are interested...

I'm looking into possibly getting some signature crests/badges made up and I know MHz has recently ordered a custom poker chip for herself.  I don't know how much the badges will cost but I'm thinking its got to be cheaper than coins.

If anybody else is interested in getting some crests made up, I'd be happy to inquire if they have a bulk shipping price at all and we could save on shipping.

I have ordered patches several times in the past for some of our geocaching events.  They usually cost in the range of $1 - $1.50 US each (minimum order of 100).  We've always ordered through Moritz Embroidery in PA, but you could probably find someone in Canada to make them for you.  Here's Moritz's website if you are interested:  http://www.moritzembroidery.com/moritz/mewhome.asp

I also have my own signature item - a 1" Junglehair pin.  These were created and designed by Vicky at Bumblebuttons.com.  I can't say enough good things about her.  She has designed several buttons for me now (event buttons as well as my junglehair buttons).  I usually just give her a list of things that I want on the button and she creates the design.  My favourite was the buttons she made for my Cinco de Cacho! event last May (celebrating 5 years since Geocaching began).  She made one into a keychain and included it with my order, so I sent that one out as a travelbug - seen here: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=139854

As for the original topic here - I too have heard nothing but praises about this coin from the various collectors I have traded with.

Yes I did recently order custom printed poker chips. I just picked them up today and I'm very impressed with them.

I ordered them from casinosupply.com in Dallas, Texas and with exchange, printing plate creation (the big cost!), printing and shipping, they ended up being around $1.70 CDN per chip. If would have cost a lot more if I hadn't supplied my own artwork in a format they could work with. I did order thier higher end tripple crown/ wheatear chips but they do have cheaper ones available as well. I had a choice of gold or silver printing and went for the gold with a version of the MBGA logo on one side and my own logo on the other side. I have tried to scrap the printing off and it survives my finger nail test! Casino Supply's minimum order is 200 chips. I ordered 50 each of 5 different colors for a total of 250 chips and got 263 delivered. Over-run is good!

I would recommend Casino Supply for anyone who is interested in custom poker chips and there is the added bonus of the making of the printing plate for the MBGA logo is already paid for, only a setup cost should apply. I did warn those guys that others may follow so using of that printing plate shouldn't be a big issue.

Look for them in a cache near you soon! MHz

Badges cheaper, eh, not so much!  The place in Quebec I was dealing with quoted me at $1.69/crest minimum of 100 per order. (that being the cheapest!).  So, I've went with Junglehair's suggestion of http://www.bumblebuttons.com and contacted Vicky there.  Her reponse was quick and the quotes she gave me were very reasonable, even in US dollars. (see below).  If anybody else is interested, let me know and we could combine to save on shipping costs.

2.25" buttons

50-100  -           $.75 each (10% off) plus $7.70 shipping

101-150 -           $.70 each (15% off) plus $7.70 shipping

151-200-            $.66 each (20% off) plus $7.70 shipping

over 200            $.62 each (25% off) plus actual shipping

1" buttons

50-100  -           $.45 each (10% off) plus $5 shipping

101-150 -           $.42 each (15% off) plus $6 shipping

151-200-            $.40 each (20% off) plus $7.70 shipping

over 200            $.37 each (25% off) plus actual shipping

I've got another order of poker chips coming from the same supplier CasinoSupply.com and this time since the plates are already made, the cost has come down a lot. Instead of $1.70/chip, it's now $0.70/chip.

It was worth waiting and seeing the chip prices come down, GST go down and CDN dollar got up! With no plate fess this time as well, it has saved me a lot of $. Yeah!

Yes more poker chips.....including the last batch, there are now 14 different types to collect! Perhaps you can all collect enough of them to have a good game of poker!
