| Keep saving your loonies and toonies and hold out for the Garmin GPSmap 60Cx. You'll be so glad you did -- it's such a great unit and one of the most satisfying purchases I've ever made..... |

The Legend’s a nice small unit with good features for the money. The “C” and the “x” are two options I would have liked on my Legend. Colour is very nice for mapping - I had a hard time differentiating in grey-scale between the drains and roads in the country. The built in 8-MB in my “plain” legend wasn’t enough to hold the maps for a road trip to Regina so the flash memory option is good too. The “click stick” on the Legend works quite well. You use it left handed freeing up your right hand to hang onto all the jokers. Some people have had problems with the click stick after a while though.
The Legend is a good value mapping GPSr, but if you can get a deal on the 60Cx it has a very sensitive receiver and very fast redraws. It’s also quite a rugged unit.
I’ll send you a PM with more information about available mapping. |

On a semi-related note.....
The other day I picked up a new MicroSD card for my 60Cx -- 2 Gigabytes! There is so much room that I was able to load all of MetroGuide Canada, AND the US portion of CityNavigator NA with plenty of room to spare.
Not that I need it at all times, but I currently have VERY detailed maps and millions of Points Of Interest for all of North America loaded into my 60Cx. And the decrease in map reload and route calculation speed is minimal.
Also 900+ Manitoba caches loaded in...... time to hit the road! |

How much did said memory card cost? I've been wanting to upgrade mine so that I COULD fit more map into there (all of Topo would be nice). _________________ Ia Numtaru, ia Lammia, ia Asaku, ia Pazuzu.

I paid $89.99 for a SanDisk 2GB (BestBuy). I've seen other brands on sale for a little less -- but these "cheaper" brands have been known to have reliability issues.
The price is well worth the jump in storage space -- 64MB to 2GB !! |

Keep an eye out for sales. I bought a 2GB Sandisk at FutureShop for $39.99 just before Xmas. However, at the same time, a 1GB Sandisk was going for $59.99 at the same store. Crazy sales! _________________ I use multi-billion dollar military satellite systems to find Tupperware in the forest. |

| The kingston 1gb microsd with adapters to sd and minisd is going for $15.99 at many places online. 1gb is enough to hold the entire City Navigator NT maps for North America. 2gb is required for the non NT version. |

After Hiding 85 caches
And Finding 1237 caches
We finally own our first GPSR unit.
Thanks to our son Joker 2 for buying that first 150.00 Garmin Geko for his 10th birthday - he is now almost 13 WOW.
We have yet to find a cache with it so we hope we're as lucky with this one as we have been with the other one.
Anybody have any advice? We didn't buy any extra mapping but we do have the large suction mount and the cigarette lighter cable for power on the road. |

You found 1237 caches with a Geko ? Impressive.
Goes to show a GPSr doesn't have to be fancy to work well. |

Congratulations. The first thing I do with those units is turn off the default snap to roads feature in the map setup. It's quite annoying.
Enjoy |

| We tried a Garmin Etrex Legend with some mapping inbetween but decided to move up another level or two. Didn't own it though. |
