Is there any place to buy and pick up travel bugs in the city? Or geocoins? Thanks! |

Just about any MBGA event. The Association sells TB tags, and there are several members who collect coins and may have some for sale.
BTW: You do not want to start collecting coins. Down that that path lies madness.

Hey Trashcona74, we have just started Geocaching and were having the same problem. MY girls between the age of 6 and 11 want to get there own coins and bugs ( Myself included ) but they want to pick out one from a store. So far been only able to find coins on line. We are looking for 2008 Manitoba geocoins. We have a couple of leads and will post if any pan out.
Good luck and happy hunting. |

Seems odd that we have the mint here in town and there doesn't seem to be anyone in winnipeg making coins |

The mint will not help produce or market the coins you submit to them. As well they are limted in what they can produce, ie. silver or copper seems to be all they will do.
The Alaskian geocoins where developed through the alaska mint and are all either gold, silver or copper. No color. As well are limited and can be very costly. Not many cachers will put out 50 bucks for a coin. And then what do you do with the coin after- release it or keep it hidden on a shelf?
I would love to see a silver coin from Manitoba minted here, but someone would have to put up the capital to begin this process, and believe me when I say, normal coins can cost 3G or more for 350 coins. |
