This summer the MBGA is challenging you to find long lost Manitoba caches for a chance to win some cool geocaching prizes.
Each of the long lost caches has been allocated points according to it's age, difficulty and terrain, as well as the amount of time since it was last found. If you are prepared to risk life and limb (or just gas money), find one or more of the long lost caches between July 1 and August 31, 2008.
Find out more at the Finders of the Lost Cache Contest Page. |

The caches are not really "lost", that was just a catchy title for this contest. The idea is to get people out to some of the less visited caches around the province.
If you want to participage, you should print out the list of caches found here:
http://www.mbgeocaching.ca/files/Finders_of_the_Lost_Cache.pdf
If you find any of the caches on that list between July 1 and August 31 you will receive points for that find. If it's your first time finding it, you will receive the full point value, but you can also revisit caches you had found prior to the contest and qualify for half the point value.
There will be prizes for the cachers with the most points, but also random draws from everyone that participates.
For more details, see the info on the MBGA home page. |

Just a reminder that you only have a few days left to find the "Lost" caches. Don't forget to submit your entry form by August 31, 2008.

Well I found one of the "lost caches". My second find in my brief history here. I think I submitted it alright but not sure. How do I actually show that I've been to one? Is it just by signing the book at the cache? Anyway, it was a lot of fun. Hopefully I can get another one or 2 in. |

Hi eg50,
Your entry for the Finders of the Lost Cache contest was received, so you will be entered into the draw for prizes. The winners will be announced at the GeoVenture event next weekend at Birds Hill Park. Hope you can make it out to that - it will be a great way to meet some of the local cachers, and even join in for some group caching adventures. |
