The MBGA is hosting the 12 Degrees Below Contest for members during the months of January and February 2009.
We've selected several hiding, finding and other geocaching activities to keep you busy. Complete one of more of the categories to receive entries for great prizes like MEC, Cabela's and Landsharkz gift certificates.
Learn more at the 12 Degrees Below Contest page. |

Darn it! Ya coulda warned a brother that this was coming down the pipe! LOL
I'd have held off on my two hides until the 1st.
(Unless we can stretch the rule a bit...) |

I on the other hand, have been procrastinating, so this will give me motivation to get out the one I've already got ready (except the coords and FTF cert), and two others.
Questions about the contest:
- Do the pictures have to have something to do with the cache?
- Do trackables have to have been retrieved during the contest? Or do the ones I have in my possession already count when I drop them in a cache?
- Do multiple trackables in one cache count as 2 or 1 for that category? For example, I dropped two TB's in GC1BYNB, since one needed a location where moose could be found (maybe, maybe not in Whiteshell), and the other was just bulky, so I wanted to get it out of my pocket.
- I don't normally record the TB ID. Is the Tracking # okay? It at least gets you to the TB page to see my logs.
Thanks! |

No kidding! I missed out by one!
And how about them odds? The top 4 people, siafhir, junglehair, trove chasers and myself had a total of 83 entries. The winners had half of that at 42 entries and no one from the top 4 got drawn. LOL
(Of course, with Dani writing her name on the back of every entry when no one was looking, even she didn't get picked!) |

| Congrats to the winners. I did a lot more caching in the cold winter months than I would have if it wasn't for this contest. My goal was to complete each category which I managed to do. |

| I am very happy – I like Cabelas and would have picked this prize if we had to choose! Caching has been a lot of fun this winter and I’ve managed to carry on with the quest I started last winter, to cache every day of the year. It’ll take me another year to achieve it but I’m moving along and have less than 100 days to go. The contest added to the fun. |
