The Wolf Passports should be available from the MBGA in the near future. They will be $5 with a portion of the proceeds going to the MBGA. I will post more details when I have the booklets. |

Cool, I couldn't figure out how to obtain it, or even find the contest on their webpage. |

We’re certainly interested in obtaining a [wolf hunting] passport before the end of the month. |

I passed the comments about their website on to the coordinator. For anyone that is interested, the link with more information can be found here. |

For those that are making the trip to Churchill, we have also been offered a 2.5 hour guided walking tour of the Spirit Way Walk (Manitoba's latest Star Attraction) for $10 per person. Most of the wolves in Thompson can be found along the walk.
I told them that we likely didn't have time for that during our short stay in Thompson, but if anyone is interested, let me know and we can try to coordinate something. |

Excuse me for being a little naive but what do we get for all this Wolf effort?
A pdf certificate and recognition on their website? What is the contest? _________________ MHz, a cacher who no more knows her destiny than a tea leaf knows the history of the East Indian Company |

It is not necessarily a contest per se. The GPS Wolf Hunt Passports will be available soon for $5. This is meant to be a collector's item. It has a photo and write up on each of the wolves along with the coordinates where they can be found. Your mission is to find each of the wolves and write the name of that wolf in your passport. Once you have found all the wolves in each of the cities (Winnipeg, Thompson, and Churchill) there is a location in each of the cities to get your passport verified and stamped. Those locations will be posted on their website soon. For Winnipeg, I believe it will be the Travel Manitoba centre at The Forks.
Once you have the stamps from all three cities, then you can submit your entry and will recieve the Certificate of competion as well as being listed on their Website. I tried to convince them to send a geocoin to those that successfully completed the challenge, but they didn't have the funds for that.
The National Parks in the USA have a similar booklet:

To bad these couldn’t be set up as three separate caches [on the side], so that when you went to get your passport stamped you would also sign the cache log. Or if it could be set up in an Earthcache style; then maybe sending in a photo of each stamped page would validate the three cache finds requirements. |

Sounds like a possible waymarking category. Perhaps it's there already. Check out Waymarking.com (also a Groundspeak website) _________________ I use multi-billion dollar military satellite systems to find Tupperware in the forest. |

I should have the Wolf Passports either this afternoon or tomorrow. I will bring them to the Zoo event for anyone that is interested in purchasing one.
OBG - I had suggested to them that they could set out Letterbox caches to contain the stamps for each city, but they had concerns about how to maintain those caches. |

We are unable to attend the zoo event, but have asked Troves to pick up a passport for us. We will be travelling up to Thompson on June 30 so would like to have the passport in hand when we go
Thanks for getting them JH. _________________ If I love geocaching, why am I on this danged computer? |
