Or a giant mosquito swimming in the snow...now that's Manitoba!
Unfortunately the design is well under way but we still need some help!
First what has been decided about the coin design. The vote of MBGA directors and members present (a much bigger number than normal for an MBGA exec meeting) voted for the following:
- Bison with James Dean hair on the front.
- Second bison stays on the back
- If possible move the tracking number to be on the ammo can on the front of the coin. This frees up some room on the back to make the club logo bigger etc.
I noticed that I'd forgotten to put the club website (mbga.ca) on the coin. I will be adding it to the back of the coin.
We are now looking for a Manitoba/caching slogan for the front of the coin, likely to go across the grass at the bottom or maybe a combo with some on the Bison as well. But we need a slogan!
Some suggestions I've already gotten:
Manitoba - Mostly Flat!
Manitoba - Spirited Caching!
Caching the Keystone for 5 Years!
Anyone else have one? _________________ MHz, a cacher who no more knows her destiny than a tea leaf knows the history of the East Indian Company |

Here are some ideas:
Geocaching is what we do!
Say it with Geocaching!
Manitoba Geocaching! Has it changed your life yet?
Geocaching unscripted!
A day without caching is like a day without sunshine!
Geocaching... get the habit! _________________ If only everything in life was as enjoyable as Geocaching |

Instead of a slogan, it could say something like "bringing Manitoba cachers together for 5 years" (that would help to explain the big "5" on the bison's butt.
Or for a slogan:
"Manitoba - never too cold to cache"
"Manitoba - the centre of it all"
"Roaming the prairies for caches"
"We were born here, what's your excuse?" |

I like the "5 years" to help emphasize the "5" on the bison.
I like Cache the Spirit suggested by tedmukdyluk
Caching the Prairies for 5 years
5 years of Manitoba Caching |

I like Cache the Spirit as well. How about:
"5 Years of Manitoba Caching! Cache the Spirit!"
Might be a way to get that all to fit on the front of the coin. I'll let Landsharkz figure that one out. Could just put "Cache the Spirit!" on the front and Manitoba Geocaching Assocoiation - Caching in Manitoba for 5 years" on the back with the logo. _________________ MHz, a cacher who no more knows her destiny than a tea leaf knows the history of the East Indian Company |

not that I'm a stickler for accuracy, but several of us have been caching for longer than that. I understand the theme here, maybe if it were reworded ... "Caching with the MBGA for 5 years" or "MBGA: Caching for 5 years" ... or something like that ... just a thought _________________ I use multi-billion dollar military satellite systems to find Tupperware in the forest. |

I was actually thinking the same thing, Dani. That's why I had originally suggested "Bringing cachers together for 5 years". It should denote 5 years of the MBGA though, not just 5 years of caching. |

Putting MBGA on the front of the coin as well as back seems a little redundant but I understand the intent.
We still need an idea for something short and simple to go on the front of the coin. _________________ MHz, a cacher who no more knows her destiny than a tea leaf knows the history of the East Indian Company |

There was talk of something along the lines of "The journey is the destination." |

I like junglehair's suggestion of: "Bringing cachers together for 5 years".
It still denotes the organisation without mentioning it. Good choice of words. |
