Winnipeg Police Service press release for June 17, 2010:
| Quote: | SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE – ROAD CLOSURE
Please be advised that members of the Winnipeg Police Service are currently investigating a suspicious package in the area of the 2500 block of Main Street.
As a result, Main Street is closed in both directions between Redriver Boulevard and Murray Avenue until further notice.
Motorists and pedestrians are requested to avoid the area.
Thank you for your cooperation. |
I of course look up what cache is in the area and find this one....right at 2500 Main St.

If the closure is for this cache, it's a really odd one to be flagged as suspicious. It's not near a road or significant city infrastructure, and is a significant distance from Main St. Probably a nervous neighbour. _________________ I use multi-billion dollar military satellite systems to find Tupperware in the forest. |

Winnipeg police temporarily closed part of Main Street after a suspicious package was found in the 2500 block of Main Street near a Tim Hortons restaurant on Thursday.
The restaurant was evacuated and police said Main Street was closed between Red River Boulevard and Murray Avenue shortly before 10 a.m.
Just after 11 a.m., the street was re-opened. Police determined the package, a box with wires coming out of it, was some type of promotional item and was not dangerous.

| Yes it does. That one was off in a nice secluded corner though. Didn't think it would cause so much attention. That proves anything CAN happen |

| Just to sum this one up.... Wagonmaker saw the TV news report which actually showed the package, and it was indeed a promotional kit of some kind. It was not the cache. |
