The Oregon is a better unit than a Dakota. If I could afford it, I'd jump on this deal. _________________ I use multi-billion dollar military satellite systems to find Tupperware in the forest. |

Garmin has their lifetime map updates on sale today for $70 and a few other accessories on sale as well. Note you must already own the City Navigator NT maps for hand helds, driving models include the maps out of the box. FYI, a one time update is regularly available for $50.

I ordered the Oregon - yipppppeeee! Gotta love a deal - thanks for the tip ertyu
We had lent our second unit to friends who recently started geocaching. The unit was resting comfortably on their kitchen table when the burglar came in and took it, along with many other things including their car. They were sleeping while it happened.
Anyhoo - had to get a new GPSr so this is great - now to Garminize... will need some help as have always used Magellan. _________________ If I love geocaching, why am I on this danged computer? |

Don't worry GG, The transition is an easy one with the Oregon. You should be fine. If I can do it, you can. No additional therapy required. _________________ Have you hugged a lizard today? |

Further to the Black Friday deals at GPS Central and GPS City. If you did purchase a Oregon at GPS Central they will issue you a store credit to match the price GPS city offered. Email them with PRICE MATCH in the subject. |

I got mine today and it is soooo pretty that's important!
Now to figure it all out - not sure if I am as smart as Lizardo but will have fun trying to do stuff! _________________ If I love geocaching, why am I on this danged computer? |

I also got my Oregon 450 from GPSCity on the 15th. Yesterday I finally found my first two caches with it (though I used its waypoint averaging to hide Transcona Cordite Plant Dec. 18 ).
I also downloaded and installed (on a 4GB card) the Ibycus Canada Topo map.
Great unit, much more accurate than my Nuvi 760! It found my first 430 caches, now the Oregon takes over from here.
Oh, and I gave it a name. I tend to name my devices. My first GPS (a TomTom GO 720) was Susan, after the name of the voice. My Nuvi is named Jill for the same reason. My Oregon's name is Matt. Can anyone guess why? Anyone? Anyone? Dani? |
