We kept the logging rules consistent with the first two years. The main reason was, two years ago the AGM was less than a week after the game closed. 24hours was not enough time to tabulate the results. It was also done to keep a fair and level playing field and to save the game managers an atrocious amount of date verification afterwards. If hits are logged after the close date, we would feel compelled to verify that the date for very for the hit matched the actual logging date. That has to be done manually. (ie, actual find on March 3 hit date logged as Feb 29)
With over 6000 hits this year if people started saving their logging until after the close, we'd be checking a large number of late finds, even as a random sampling.
As it is, there is still a number of hours of work to be done to see who the hit entrants will be when the ships are placed.
As a player, I don't disagree without argument, however. I rushed to get all my hits done in the last 3 nights before midnight. Squeezed in my last two about 5 minutes before the game closed. I just don't look forward to the extra work. _________________ "So do they sometimes hide caches in dog poo like this?" "No, that's real poo. You might want to put that down." |

Due to a number of requests, we have re-opened the game entry form for players to submit Battlecache hits that they found before the close of the game. (February 29th) Please remember, the only Geocache finds that are eligible for entry are those found between November 1st 2011 and February 29th 2012.
This entry form will re-close on March 11th at 11:59:59.

Everytime I try, I get this message
"Access denied

Any idea why? _________________ Those who dare win! |

Christopher, I get that message if I'm not signed into the site. Once I sign in, I get my grid. That said, I am set up as an administrator. Can you ensure that you're signed in and try again and let me know what message (if any) you get.

I had heard that. I couldn't find any references in the code to dates that weren't changed to Feb 29th. The date is not important, as long as it's after October 31st and before March 1st _________________ I use multi-billion dollar military satellite systems to find Tupperware in the forest. |

Yes, thanks for opening it up. I accepted the consequences of not entering my hits by Feb 29, but I sure was glad to get a reprieve. Too bad I couldn't fill the board this year. |
