I am no vet by any stretch but here are my thoughts:
1)Knife and/or multi tool, something that can get a log out of a bison tube
2)Flashlight
3)Walking Stick or Hiking Pole, I have found that I take this way more then needed, helps to get those high up caches as well as not branches out of the way. Also really helpful when looking for caches in snow.
4)Trash Bags for CITO
5)I am also a horrible tree climber so I cheat am sometimes roll with a 2 step stepstool in the trunk. Don't tell anyone!

Not just any flashlight, but a flashlight with a Cree LED gives you one of the brightest beams.
Also, don't forget a good Mr. Reachy claw and a long flexible pickle picker. _________________ "So do they sometimes hide caches in dog poo like this?" "No, that's real poo. You might want to put that down." |

tweezers,
needlenose pliers,
mirror,
glove for checking out some of those places you'd normally never stick your hand!
CSS also has lots of supplies for hiding caches, like magnets and ammo boxes |
