The boyfriend and I are heading to Spruce woods for camping in a few weeks. I was wondering if there is any must find catches along the way or at spruce woods.

I have something of a bias toward earthcaches, and there are two in the park.

If you live in Winnipeg, I presume you'll be driving down Highway #2? I frequent that route. My two favourite caches along that way are in St. Claude and Treherne. Attractions St. Claude (GC154GQ) is a surprisingly fun and interesting multi. Don't throw stones (GC1H0VJ) takes you to a small house and chapel made from beer bottles!

If you have a little freedom to drive, I can think of a couple good ones.

In Shilo, MB (west), you can find Up and Out (GC3HGY9). I can't vouch for this cache myself (having not looked for it), but there must be a reason why it has a 75% favourite ratio.

West of Carberry (northwest), see if you can check out Camp Hughes TCDNMB (GCVGW2). It takes you to the site of an old WWI staging camp. You literally walk through trenches cut into the landscape in order to reach the cache. The area was built to simulate the European battlefields - the only one of its kind in North America. When you get to the cache it has lots of good historical info on the site and WWI generally. As a history buff, it's one of my all-time favourite caches.
