Congrats to OHMIC on becoming the eleventh Zombie Streaker in Manitoba (see The Streak Challenge: Zombie (GC3BNJG)). With 14000-plus finds when he started, I would've thought he found everything around here already. Yet he somehow managed to pull this off. And to make it even more fun (or tough), he did a 50 day streak of puzzle caches during the winter. As if a Zombie Streak isn't fun (or tough) enough already! OHMIC continues to amaze.

Congrats to VA on becoming the twelfth Zombie Streaker in Manitoba (see The Streak Challenge: Zombie (GC3BNJG)). Another one like me who started streaking during December holidays. I bet her favourite carol is The Twelve Days of Christmas!

CONGRATULATIONS TO JB. AND RUYLOPEZ!!!
Not only have they both got over 20,000 finds, but they both are the first cachers in Manitoba to have achieved 1,000 finds in one day...that is amazing!

Finding and logging 1,000 caches in a day is the result of long hours, quick finds, and extremely efficient logging. A few things to consider:

1. These caches are all in a line. Throughout the southwest United States there are a number of "power trails" of hundreds or even thousands of caches placed every 1/10th of a mile along the side of the highway.
2. These caches are usually all the same - typically a film canister on a post or under a rock. So there is little actual "searching" to do, saving a lot of time.
3. Rather than signing in when you find the cache, these huge trails are done by taking the container back to the car with you and signing as you drive, then placing the signed container down at the next cache and grabbing the new one, and repeating.
4. And by "signing", I mean cachers will usually use a pre-made stamp with their name(s) on it, so there's less time spent writing.
5. One person drives, the passenger(s) signs the logs.

Put all these factors together, and over the course of a 20-hour day, a team of cachers can put their names on 1,000 logbooks. In the case of JB. and ruylopez, they've done many of these trails together and work extremely efficiently. A formidable accomplishment. Congratulations again!

And as far as logging them goes; you just set up a template in GSAK and "publish" them. It will automatically log hundreds of caches in minutes.
