Hopefully someone can help me with the following: I'm travelling to Winnipeg for a couple of days in late-May on a business trip and staying at the Club Regent Casino Hotel. From checking on Google Earth, it doesn't look like there's any caches within a short walk from my hotel. 'End of The Line' and 'Buoy Oh Buoy' look walkable, but they're opposite directions from each other, and that's only two caches.

I'd like suggestions on where to go (that isn't too far of a cab ride away) where I can get dropped off and bag several caches close to each other within a couple of hours on one of the evenings that I'll be there.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

End of the Line is walkable for sure. You may need some additional equipment for Buoy oh Buoy that you may not have brought with you to a casino . You could take a short cab ride into St. Boniface. Lag Gab #1 and #2 are there and my Movie Trivia Cache will be enabled by then, and another short cab/bus ride after that will leave you at the East foot of the new Esplanade Riel (that's french for expensive bridge) there you could grab Eye of the Man, and walk across the bridge for Fountain Promenade, The Forks cache, and Upper Fort Garry Gate, On The Waterfront, and No.1 Northern.

Of course all of this information may be COMPLETELY out of date by the time you get here. There is a cache hiding blitz event going on this May. Who knows, there may be a cache in your hotel room!

I would also be willing to meet you and drive you to these areas. Always happy to meet another cacher! Mail me through my profile if you wish.

The Lizard speaks true! It’s a longer cab ride (20-30 min from the Casino), but there’s also a number of fun caches within walking distance around the University of Manitoba.

That's a nasty one to give to someone who's visiting and looking for a few quick caches....

The Scroll cache is an evil hard find, and has been known to reduce seasoned cachers to tears.

I had a look on GE at where those caches are - looks like a good plan of attack. Thanks for your help! I'll keep your offer of a lift in mind.
