I was thinking that it's about time we started documenting geocaching terms that are specific to our province. There is a Lexicon of Geocaching page that lists TFTC, Muggles, etc.

Can you help me compile a list? Ertyu will post the final version on the MBGA web site.

Format should be "term" - Definition

My entries:

"Dani Radius" - The 5km radius from your home coordinates. This term started when dani_carriere decided her main goal was to find all the caches within 5kms of her home co-ordinates.

"Dani Number" - The number of caches left to find in your Dani Radius

"ZDNR" - See Zero Dani Number Radius

"Zero Dani Number Radius" - The distance to the next nearest cache from your home co-ordinates.

"Mr. Reachy" - A long tool used to reach caches that your arm cannot.

please add any that you can think of! Thanks!

I can only think of three right now:

SOUP - Sticks Of Unusual Positioning

Tobey or Skaven Factor - Caches over 5 ft ie. a tobey/skaven factor 1.5 places the cache around 7-8 ft off the ground. Wink

Happy Dance - Calibrating the Garmin compass.

IAPT - In a Pine Tree. Also used when cache is in a Spruce tree, tall juniper, spruce, or pretty much any poky tall evergreen type tree.

I had a question about the 'T' score but it was starting to get away from the original topic so I will include HPV for human powered vehicle.

I was wondering today about the 'T' score. I had to reach for something that was not high but required quite long arms. I am about 5 10 so I figured the cache might be greater than 1T but that had nothing to do with height.

I somehow doubt any of my own definitions apply, but I've come up with random terms for things. I think 'Dinifra' was actually used by someone else once, but I'm not sure Razz

The official "Mob Cache" description is now set as "Geoswarm" in future events!

Might I suggest "Geo-Choir" to be added to the Lingo? Definition could read something like "a gaggle of cachers at a Geo-klatch belting out a tune with vigor"? Thoughts?

For those who weren't there at Pub Nite last night, the Geo-Choir was definitely the highlight for me and quite possibly, for others as well!

And ertyu's long says it best, if you ask me! MBGA Pub Nite: Time Warp Ertyu's Log[/i]

kildonan61 found Teeny Tiny Tim (Traditional Cache) at 4/30/2008

Log Date: 4/30/2008
I'm a real packrat when it comes to waypoints in my GPSr. Never know when I'm going to get that dreaded "Waypoint Memory Full" beep when downloading coordinates. So I read Kabs' log for this one and thought "Bonus! I should be able to find this one without GPS!"...

...But the real reason I wanted to find this one is that I wanted to see a nanomail ball in person. Found the cache, signed my nano name (k61) and managed to pick up and replace the nanomail ball without inhaling it. TFTC

I really like that - our nano name is 1Q4J. We sign this in nanos 1Q4J 30/4) and micros so the cache owner doesn't have to replace as often... In the online log it could be TNLN SONN. Took nothing, left nothing, signed our nano name. Any thoughts?[/b]

How about "Mr. Loggy"?

It's an offshoot of the Mr. Reachy lexicon. I recently used a 4" x 6ft log to help me cross some wet swampy areas at MW4. It was while I was carrying the log with me that I gave my helper the name, Mr. Loggy.
