On 2 occasions I've found pokerchips that have been altered a bit - one said junglehair, and one said megahertz. I've figured out that these chips represent geocachers...Are these chips a type of geocoin? Are we encouraged to take them and put them in another cache? Since I'm new to the sport, I thought I'd better clarify.
Thanks! |

Geochips...never thought of that one. No they are not trackable like geocoins or travel bugs. They are just a signature item we leave behind. As for my own MHz poker chips, leave them, take them, keep them or move them. All are fine by me.

Or, you could do as I do and leave a MHz poker chip behind as evidence whenever you commit a major felony.

The chips are just signature items, much like business cards, or failing that my chainmail balls. Take 'em, collect 'em, whatever your fancy. The only coins that are trackable typically say "trackable at geocaching.com", and have a set of 6 or so numbers and letters somewhere close to that. _________________ Ia Numtaru, ia Lammia, ia Asaku, ia Pazuzu.

Much like being screeched in as a Newfoundlander, you've not become an official geocacher in Manitoba until you've handled a set of Kab's balls.
Wait, did that sound wrong? That didn't sound family friendly... |

You can take it anywhere you want....virtually on gc.com. Physically, you can't have it any more than grnbrg can! _________________ MHz, a cacher who no more knows her destiny than a tea leaf knows the history of the East Indian Company |
