Hi Green-Eyed-Girl,
I'm guessing that you won't have too much luck picking up a used unit. Those of us that have upgraded to a newer model tend to keep the other unit as a back up or spare. I think the Legend is an good choice for a beginner model and it's very user friendly. The click stick on them tends to wear out over time, so you'd have to be careful of that if picking up a used one. For about $150 you can pick one up brand new and I'd recommend going that route.
