Mrs.PMer is a genealogy researcher & runs her own business & can be found at www.yourrootsareshowing.com; she came across an interesting article that I thought would be great to share with you all.

I know we've discussed the idea with our town of taking pictures of all the markers at our cemetery & posting them on her web page as we get requests to take photo's & email to family members afar, now we can do this as well so that they can come & locate easily or use Google Earth to locate a grave site.

Happy caching,

Interesting choice being offered. I think, myself, I prefer the stone marker. One valuable thing that this brings up though is the idea of marking graves with GPS coordinates and having those coordinates in a master database.

My Dad has been studying our family geneology for a few years now and building our tree. Some lines he's traced back to late 1500's. He's marked a few stones with GPS, but what a valuable bonus it would be to have every entry in a geneology database linked to GPS coordinates and even a photo.
