Hello Geocachers!

A long time has bassed since our first meeting in October, but it is time to start the wheels in motion for GeoVenture 2011. We want to make this year's event bigger and better than ever before in order to ramp it up for a MEGA Event in 2012.

In order to do this, we need to start a GeoVenture committee of 6 to 10 people who will spearhead the various jobs we need (Marketing, Games and Events, etc.). We will also need to determine who the Chairperson of the committee will be (someone who is not already on the MBGA Executive).

In order to do this, we will be holding a general meeting for all interested volunteers on Thursday, January 27th, 2011, at 7:30 pm. Location TBD. Please advise by email at waynecarrier@shaw.ca if you plan on attending. (I will send out the location, once it is known, to those who have responded positively.) The goal of this meeting will be to create the committee and decide which tasks need to get started already. All geocachers are welcome to attend.

If we cannot find volunteers to form a committee, we will not be able to put on GeoVenture 2011 and will not have the momentum needed for 2012. Please seriously consider if you have time to sit on a committee (likely only one meeting a month until summer) and make this event fun and exciting for geocachers from Manitoba, Canada and abroad.

If you know of anyone else who may be interested in coming to the meeting, feel free to invite them as well.
