Crackerjackie is going to be on CJOB this coming Wednesday, the 30th at 8pm. We need to help her out with some interesting factoids that she might be able to use in her 10 minutes if she needs 'filler' material. Aside from the training Powerpoints, this is what I started her off with. Please feel free to add more.

Manitoba has 5358 active Geocaches.
Worldwide, we are closing in on 2 million active Geocaches.
The first Geocache was placed in May, 2000 near Seattle Washington.
The oldest active Geocache in Manitoba was placed in May 2001 near Killarney. (GC21C ) (The first caches place have long been retired.)
The oldest active Geocache in Winnipeg is a Virtual (GC6C18)placed in July 2002 to honour the land surveyors of Canada. The cache gives a short history lesson Surveyors. _________________ "So do they sometimes hide caches in dog poo like this?" "No, that's real poo. You might want to put that down."

I suppose talking about who has the most caches all-time could be interesting.
Worldwide: Alamogul (81,861), of California.
Canada: OpusTerra (35,596), of Quebec.
Manitoba: OHMIC (14,561). |
