Hello MBGA members,

We were invited to an opportunity that is going to happen quickly. There is going to be an 11-12-13 Multi event this year in similar fashion to the last number of years (8-8-8, 9-9-9, 10-10-10, 11-11-11 and 12-12-12). This will actually happen on two dates, November 12th, 2013 and December 11, 2013 because different countries record their dates differently.

---

** This post was edited to remove the sample coin picture and the surveymonkey link. The Survey is no longer needed. Make note, your response in the survey did not constitute an order or reservation of the Manitoba Geocoin. The survey information was taken to calculate the number we would need to order.**

Indeed there is.

Here are the two Manitoba coins. The coin designer has labeled them the 'USA Version' and 'International Version.' This has to do with date formats.

The 'USA Version' will be our November coin. If you look at the very small clocks on the front, you'll see one hand points to 'NOV'. The very bottom clock points to the '12'.

The 'International Version' has the hands pointing to December and 11 respectively.

On the front of both Manitoba versions, I used the MBGA colours. The small clocks use a translucent green.

It is the back of each coin that has the biggest difference. The 'yellow' on the back of the November coin represents the colour Citrine (Yellow topaz) which represents November's gemstone. Similarly, the back of December's coin is Turquoise, December's gemstone. (And also one of the 4 MBGA colours.)

Where you see white on the outer ring of both coins, this is bare metal with no paint.

The November coin will be Antique Silver.

The December coin will be shiny gold.

Now that the coin has been ordered, we can start taking and recording coin reservations.

Manitoba has 125 of the November coin and 125 of the December coin. We opted to not trade with other organizations this year, so we will only be offering the Manitoba version.

The coins will be sold for $13.00 each.

Using last year's number, we will currently budget the following numbers,

Brandon: 20 x November, 20 x December
Dauphin:10 x November, 10 x December
Flin Flon: 10 x November, 10 x December
Winnipeg: 85 x November, 85 x December

(Note: unused numbers from Brandon, Flin Flon and Dauphin will remain in Winnipeg.)

The organizers in Brandon, Flin Flon and Dauphin will organize their own reservation system and give us the total number of coins they need.

The reservations below will be used for the Winnipeg events.

A maximum of two Geocoins per geocacher will be allowed. If there are any unsold and unreserved at the events, extras can be purchased then.

Please give us your Geocaching username if it differs from your MBGA forum name. A typical reservation should look like this.

(ie) glacier_ice: 2 x November, 1 x December

-------------------------

(Tracking will be taken over by 4elements5senses following this post.)

Reservation Tracking List

glacier_ice: 1 x November, 1 x December
icecube#1: 1 x November, 1 x December
