As I've mentioned to a few people, I'm interested in hosting another event in February sometime around Valentine's Day. I think everyone had a good time at the Soiree and seemed to just be tickled pink to get together with other cachers. Although the caching events everybody is coming up with sound great, I'm just not interested in hosting an outdoor cache event at this time.

The Holiday Inn South has a room which we can book for free when we have a get together there. They can size it to our needs for exclusive use and we can order off the menu or from their buffet. They have round tables which seat 10 and ample free parking. The catch: we can only pay on one bill! Would people be okay with this option and any suggestions how to work it if it was something we decided to go with? Your input and suggestions would be much appreciated. It's your event too! I'm sure other hotels have similar options which I just haven't explored yet.

Of course, we would prefer the north side of town, but the Holiday Inn South sounds like a great idea.

The Holiday Inn South is fine with us. We'll find the get-together wherever it is though! When it gets a little closer to the date, we'll be able to commit whether we can attend or not. It's always great to see everyone - and there's still a few MB cachers we haven't met. Thanks again Tobey.

Here's the deal on the Holiday Inn South: although it would suit our needs, it would be costly (at least $30/person) and we can only pay with one bill. I'm not sure how to get around that. I don't want to be after people for money, this is supposed to be a fun event after all.

Anyone with any input, opinions would be appreciated. I don't want to rule people out with the cost but if people are okay with this, I can go ahead and book it and work out any details later.

Ouch!

That's steep. I suspect there'd be a lot of people (myself included, I'm afraid) who would decline based on the price alone.

Other suggestions:

Tony Roma's on Pembina -- they have a large 'party' room.
Boston Pizza -- they'll do large groups.
Grand Garden on Logan -- Dim Sum on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

Another possibility is to meet up at Westview park, or near one of the city park ice slides and do some toboganning with weenies and hot chocolate. Food options could be either bring your own, or RSVP and $5 a head, or something like that.

Was thinking about Tony Roma's myself. Think I'll give them a call today and see about their "room". Its sort of the room that I'm looking for as personally, I like the concept of having an area all to myself.
