Cacher of the Month - March 2013

Hailing from the Portage la Prairie area, Da_Bowz has been caching for several years now. They've come out to several events, and I've been able to go caching with them. Often when we get a chance to talk, it's about travelling, which all three of us love. I had noticed through the winter months (and by "winter months", I mean the real winter months, not April), that Mr. Da Bowz was doing a lot of caching in Winnipeg. So much so, that I suggested that they may want to considering relocating to our fair city. So far, they're still firmly planted in the Central Plains region of the province. Another great year! Entries will now no longer be accepted. Did you sink the sea monsters? The random placements have been drawn and the monsters are now visible.

Check your grid against what is posted below to see what sea monsters you took out.

Cabelas Volunteers Needed!

Cabelas has asked us to set up an information booth/table at their annual Spring Sale. The sale is March 16-17 and 23-24th.

We need volunteers to represent Geocaching and the MBGA to work a 3 hour shift at the booth.

What day? Currently, we have March 16th filled up. We are looking to fill up Saturday, March 23rd. We will not maintain a booth on the two Sundays.

Duties? Talk to new people about Geocaching. It is your chance to share why you love to Geocache. There may be a Geocache or two pre-hidden for people to try and find.

Will there be a Geo-event published?

Cacher of the Month - February 2013

Bike_4_me was introduced to geocaching by junglehair when he accompanied her to find a geocache while on a business trip in Brandon in 2007. He was hooked, but as the father of three teen-aged children, he didn't have much time for geocaching. He managed to find 23 caches in his first year. As the kids got old enough to drive themselves to all their activities, he had a bit more time for his favourite activities: cycling and geocaching. Almost 6 years later, Manny has over 2500 finds and is working on an impressive geocaching streak which began on August 1, 2011. He is well past the 500 consective days of geocaching mark and is closing in on 600. Congratulations Bike_4_me for being named the MBGA's Cacher of the Month for February!
