(Learn more about geocaching) To get started geocaching, all you need is a GPS receiver and a geocache location. (Learn more about getting started) You can find a nearby geocache location at geocaching.com by entering an address or town into the search box.

The Manitoba Geocaching Association (MBGA) strives to advance the sport of geocaching through social activities, public education and promotion of geocaching. (Learn more about the MBGA).

  1. When did you start Geocaching?
  2. Jon purchased a Garmin Etrex Legend CX to mark some fishing holes in June of 2007. He then checked out the internet to see what other applications this device could be used for. He found geocaching.com and we noticed three caches by Wagonmaker within miles of our cottage at St Laurent. We tried to find all three and on June 21st we logged 1 smiley at Île-près-du-marais (mode of transportation was a porta-boat) and 2 frowns at Point de Marais and Sentier-sur-Marais. Later went back and found Sentier-sur-Marais.

  1. When did you start Geocaching?
  2. I bought my GPS just after the Canada Day long weekend in 2007. My whole family went out that night with me for the first few caches. I have been hooked ever since!

  3. How did you find out about Geocaching?
  4. I first heard about Geocaching from my co-worker Jaypeg in the summer of 2006. Everyday he would tell tales of his adventures on his expeditions. However I never tried geocaching until June of 2007 when Jaypeg took me to my very first cache.
