Election Profile for Dani Carriere
I'm dani_carriere, and I'd like to be re-elected to the position of President of the MBGA. I have been geocaching since May of 2002. This game has taken me to several new and wonderful places, and has allowed me to meet many new and interesting people.
As one of the three founding members of the MBGA (along with Master Instigator and skaven), I have seen the growth from inception to the well-structured association we have today. We are now recognized both nationally and internationally as the defacto geocaching group in the province of Manitoba.
I've served on the committee starting in early 2005 as Vice-President and technical co-ordinator. In March of 2006, I took on the role of President and instituted the committee structure that we have in place today. In May of 2006, I was invited by Parks Canada to be the lone representative of Manitoba to assist in drafting the National and Historic Parks Geocaching Policy which will be delivered in the summer of 2007.
Outside of geocaching, I am a web developer for a national financial firm. I am a volunteer Venue Team Leader for the Winnipeg Fringe Festival, and have volunteered at many festivals and charities in the city, including building houses in the "Jimmy Carter Work Project".
I would like to thank the MBGA committee and membership for their participation and support throughout 2006. I hope that, with your vote, that we can continue making progress in 2007.
