maskwA weekeNd Geocaching powEr traiLs
For all those geocachers who like to cache power trails... here is an event you will love!!!
Come spend the weekend with us and cache all day then relax all night at the Maskwa Project:
Friday, July 19 - Sunday, July 21
'The Winnipeg River "POWER" - Power Trail' by Muz and Girlie currently has 221 caches. I have been in contact with the CO's and they have plans to expand it before this event! Right now it ends not far from the location of the Maskwa Project, making it the perfect place to stay for the weekend. You can hit the power trail during the day and come back to spend the evening with friends and share your caching stories.
The Maskwa Project is a low cost technology retreat center which has no running water and gas generated electricity. They provide solar showers and a sauna in separate buildings. They also have a boat and three canoes, with a variety of life jackets, all free to use.
We have reserved the main lodge for the weekend. It sleeps up to 16 people in three semi private rooms located on the second floor. Each room has bunks with basic vinyl covered camping mattresses, and they provide fresh sheets and pillows, but you would need to bring your own blankets.
The lodge has a kitchen with basic necessities including a small gas stove with three burners, a double sided sink, dishes and cutlery, but no running water and no fridge. There is a washroom but it has a bucket style toilet. The lodge also has a wood stove and they provide free firewood.
$14/person/night with eight or more people ($16/night if less)
Note: If more than 16 people sign up then we may be able to reserve some more shelters.
